It Stays With You
Photography has never been an easy path for me — and honestly, I’m glad it isn’t. From the very beginning, I’ve poured everything I have into delivering the best possible final product for every client who trusts me. But the truth is, there have been times when I’ve fallen short. Not because I didn’t care or didn’t try, but because sometimes things just don’t go the way you hope.
There have been days when nothing worked — when the light didn’t cooperate, the timing was off, or my equipment decided to give out at the worst possible moment. It’s tempting to blame the gear, the weather, or the circumstances, but deep down, I know that’s not the whole story. Sometimes, it just wasn’t meant to happen that day.
But I couldn’t just lay down and accept failure. That’s not who I am. Those tough moments — the ones that sting, the ones that keep you up at night replaying every decision — they’ve become my fuel. I carry them with me, not as regrets, but as reminders. They’re the reason I work harder, prepare longer, and push further than I did before.
No sleep? Fine.
Extra hours perfecting a setup? Absolutely.
Asking more questions, studying more, practicing more? Every single time.
Every failure has shaped me into the photographer I am today — not just technically, but mentally and emotionally. Because when you truly care about your craft, you learn that growth lives in the uncomfortable moments.
And the balance — the moments of recognition, publication, and success — those are what keep the fire alive. They remind me that the struggle is worth it, that all the sleepless nights and second guesses lead somewhere meaningful.
I’m grateful it’s never been easy. Easy doesn’t teach you anything. Easy doesn’t push you to evolve.
It’s the challenge — the grind, the resilience, the quiet determination — that makes every victory so much sweeter.
So no, it’s not simple. But it’s always, always worth it.
